Ruche

Ruche... just say the word. Draw out that "che" ending, Ruchhhhhe. Sounds so rich, so textured, so majestic. And for paper it is all that!

I have a wonderful package of 11 colors of Ruche. I find myself hoarding it... it's just so pretty, ya know? Well, I decided to use some of it so I can share it's beauty with you...I can always pop into the PaperTemptress store for more!

Here's what I've been working on for "welcome back to school" gifts for the teachers where my DH is the principal.

 

 

These little bundles contain chocolate treats and the paper rose clip has a magnet strip on the back. Cute to pin on the fridge or your filing cabinet at work with a picture that makes you happy. 

I made about 50 of these using assorted card stock weights and textures. Then I tried the Ruche and fell in love. This lovely textured card stock works beautifully for making these roses, gives them such pretty texture.

 

Such a simple project, yet with the right papers makes for a really beautiful little gift.   My sweet doilies are cut from the Solar White Skinny Columns card stock. Very subtle lined texture and beautiful when edges are sponged with ink. Die cut shapes come out so crisp and nice with this card stock as well.

Mister Penguin

Oh Mister Penguin, she says, "I've been shopping again!" And just look at that happy, content face...

I'm thinking her little kraft sack has some sweets for the little penguins and the ice-cube bag has a nice fish dinner in it for the Mister. Now that's the kind of shopping that makes every penguin family happy!

Mimi in Paris

I just love Mimi! She's normally such a busy gal... today she's in a tiny but charming cafe not far from the Eiffel Tower. She needed this time to relax and soak in the view!

 

 

Mimi is from Penny Black. The lacy "frame" Mimi is sitting in is stamped with another Penny Black stamp called Floral Thread. A beautiful background stamp! And what would I do without my Spellbinders Paper Arts Products?!  ;D  Ink is Tsukineko Memento Black from the Red Rubber Designs store.

 

Red Rubber Designs "Just Because" Challenge JB0712

July is a sketch challenge...

The sketch is for inspiration - you can choose to interpret it any way you wish (i.e., your project doesn't have to be exactly like the sketch) in any medium you wish (doesn't have to be a card, either).

This is my card for the challenge:

I used my favorite stamp set from the RRD new release this month... Every Leaf. All paper, card stock, ribbon and Tsukineko ink are from the Red Rubber Designs store well. One stop shopping... I like that!

I stamped my design in Fimo clay, dusted it with Perfect Pearls, baked it and my medallion was done.  ;D  It was fun, I'll have to play with Fimo again soon!

 

New Creations

I've been playing with my kraft card stock lately. It's a wonderful color and textured look for manly cards... but I like to dress it up sometimes as well. In this card I paired the kraft with the hot fudge pop tones card stock. The base of my card is where I started the "dressing up". It's a beautiful glimmering  card stock called autumn hay glimmer. It's a nice heavy weight for card bases.

  

 

The rest of this card was quite simple thanks to this one gorgeous stamp from Red Rubber designs called New Creation and some embossing powder.

These pretty border dies are from Spellbinders Paper Arts. Stop by the newly re-designed PaperTemptress store for some great specials right now!  One of my favorites on sale right now is the pop tones package.

No Scary Cats Allowed

At my house, we like soft pretty, black kitties... not the scary kind! Especially around Halloween.  ;D     

Every year my daughter tells me "no scary black cat cards!" She prefers the sweeter side of Halloween... like all that candy!

Soooo here is a sweet Halloween cat from Red Rubber Designs new release:

This sleeping sweetie is from the Trick or Treat rubber stamp set. All paper, Bazzill card stock, ribbon and Tsukineko inks can be found in the Red rubber Designs store as well. My back ground paper is stamped with the same design on the kittie's pillow only larger.

Every Leaf Lantern

Hi...it’s time for a Tuesday Tutorial at the Red Rubber Designs blog. It's also my turn to share a Fall project that you may enjoy creating as well!  

 

 

I created a pretty paper lantern for Fall featuring the "Every Leaf" stamp set. I hope you have time to check out the entire lantern and the tutorial I have created for it.

First Thursday Blog Hop

It's first Thursday at Red Rubber Designs...that means newly released stamp sets. So stop by the store and shop around! 

This card was made with the new Every Leaf stamp set...

If tomorrow all the things were gone, I'd worked for all my life. And I had to start again, with just my children and my wife.

I'd thank my lucky stars, to be livin here today. ‘Cause the flag still stands for freedom, and they can't take that away.

And I'm proud to be an American, where at least I know I'm free. And I wont forget the men who died, who gave that right to me.

All bold and beautiful card stock used in this card is from The PaperTemptress store. The wonderfully sturdy base is Heavenly White 120# Ultrasmooth. My Statue of Liberty is also stamped on a panel of the Heavenly White. The red is Wild Cherry Pop Tones  and the blue is from my Basis Card Stock package.
