So Thankful

So thankful you thought of me... sometimes when someone does something really special you just want to reciprocate in some way. A handmade gift is often the perfect way to say thank you.

 

 

This journal/notepad is easy to make and fun to embellish. I've made dozens of these as gifts and as craft sale items. Love this vintage font the word journal is in... from the Memories stamp set.  

 

 

I usually have fun scraps left over from my cards and paper projects. The gift tag below is an example of those scraps put to good use. I hate to waste my pretty ribbon and papers... even the smallest pieces have found their way into projects.  ;D

 

The lovely shades of lavendar and purple card stock can be found in the Red Rubber Designs Store. I love this butterfly (from the Happily Grateful stamp set) stamped in gold. It looks so rich with the purple card stock and ribbon. I finished my tag with a large brad fro the Amelia Hardware pack. The background stamp in turquoise and sentiment is from the Here I Am set.

Gratitude

What a busy, productive day I had. Front lawn mowed, mulch spread, new soil in potted plants... whew! Don't you feel great when you have a day like that? I do!

Oh yeah, I even got a sweet little card made...

I love this quote. It's one of the stamps in the Be Happiness set from Red Rubber Designs. These precious little butterflies are from the Sweet Day Cupcake stamp set. I found this cute pink polka dot paper in the Catelynne Patterned Card stock collection.

My Shining Star

He truly is...a shining star. Really. He even received an award saying so!  lol  

Each elementary school in our district chooses one child who the teachers believe demonstrate certain qualities. They look for someone who is hardworking, has great grades, is polite and helpful to everyone and participates in community service among other things.

I was so proud and delighted when my sweet boy Connor was chosen as Shining Star for A.K. Suter Elementary School. There was a big ceremony for all of the children and each child received a bicycle!

Happily Grateful Blog Hop

It is the First Thursday of the month, so that means we have New Releases at Red Rubber Designs! 

June is about scrapbooking at RRD.  All month, the design team will be posting scrapbook ideas like - layouts, mini albums, art journals, and embellishment ideas etc...all using the newly released June stamp sets.  Today, each member of the design team created a scrapbook page featuring the June Spotlight Stamp Set "Happily Grateful".

Birthday Party

Here's a quick little card for a birthday party my DD is attending tomorrow. I love these girly -girl parties. Ten year old girls are so cute and chatty. It's fun to sit back and just enjoy their excitement.  ;D

 

I'm lovin' this cake. So much fun to color. It's in the Sugar Coated Sweetness stamp set from Red Rubber Designs. The sentiment can be found in the Savvy Sayings set. This is framed with a pretty flourish design from the Fabulous Frames set. It works beautifully with this Spellbinders die cut piece. And last but not least ... this bright and beautiful patterned paper is also from the Red Rubber Designs store. It's called Brighten My Day.

Happy Saturday

Hope your Saturday has been good so far.  ;D  My daughter and I started the day off at Palafox Market. It's a farmers market with arts and crafts. Fun, yummy and HOT. We are definitely having summer weather here in Pensacola. And oh, the beautiful flowers... The sweet young lady selling them had bundles and bundles of gorgeous, bright bouquets put together in large buckets of water... dern, I wish I had taken my camera! 

I do have some pretty flowers to share on my card today. I fell in love with this stamp set the first time I saw it. It's from Red Rubber Designs and it's called Be Fabulous.

Wow... Time flies when you spend your days creating scenery back drops for an elementary school play! This is my first post for this week, yikes.   ;D

I do have a couple things to share today:

This image is so beautiful to me. Lady Liberty in all her majestic glory... makes me take a deep breath and thank my Heavenly Father that I was born in a country of freedom and thank the men and women who have sacrificed so much for us to keep that freedom. 

Red Rubber Designs carries this and other wonderful patriotic stamps. This stamp is called Liberty.

When I was making this card it reminded me of a scrapbook page I made a few years ago. My family and I were visiting the Naval Aviation Museum here in Pensacola. We love to hang out there, it's always changing and always interesting. 

Gotta love that boy!  LOL

This is my take on the challenge:

Very clean and simple...my household element is duct tape. I put a piece across a scrap of card stock and cut out Spellbinder's stars. Fun and I really like my duct tape stars I may have to do this again sometime!

My sentiment stamp is from Red Rubber Designs. Beautiful font and lovely sentiment. It's from the Savvy Sayings stamp set.
